One enduring challenge for R&D based companies is how to manage their R&D operations globally. The 2013 Representatives’ Round Table will explore the complexity of establishing and managing research centers globally, looking at the reasons to globalize, the operational requirements and the new challenges that arise as labs become more mature. In particular, participants will consider the infrastructure and toolkits required for successful globalization, and discuss different approaches to aligning the organization eg. technology/component/device/structure. Additionally, participants will hear the major lessons learned from the Focus group trip to Brazil and the parallels with the previous Focus group to India. There will also be contributions providing experience and lessons from members operating in China, reviewing whether the expected value was realized and what the unexpected consequences have been. The 2013 Representative’s Round Table will be held January 31 – February 1 in Brussels, Belgium.
