Efficient end-to-end management of core partnering processes
Roche has been at the forefront of deal making for over a decade. However, from a systems standpoint, up until 2008, Roche managed its partnering activities using multiple legacy applications and tools. Given the integration of Genetech within the Roche Group, it was decided to harmonize the processes across the different partnering teams and look for a solution with improved efficiency, usability and consistency.

In 2009 Roche launched a global project to deploy a common platform to support the organization’s entire partnering processes. Roche selected and deployed Inova’s Deals & Alliances modules with the goal to deliver an efficient, easy-to-use solution to track and manage opportunities, documents and relationships in order to create a high quality partnering program.

P helix supports all partnering activities including licensing, M&A, alliance management, venture fund, and VC network activities. Information and documents such as obligations, milestones, agreements, and governance documents are efficiently shared and tracked across teams. Through the use of Web services connecting to other systems, financial and project management teams are automatically notified when payments and other obligations are due, eliminating potential costly oversights. The enhanced coordination supports better execution and helps build trust in the alliance relationships.
